This book is a record of the architect Riken Yamamoto's 34 years of activity and is his first collection of works.
It traces 29 major works with sketches, photographs, and drawings, from the early Yamakawa Villa (1977) to The Circle, Zurich Airport (2015). Mr. Yamamoto is a leading Japanese architect with many projects both in Japan and abroad. He always thinks about architecture while valuing the relationship between society and people, and especially in housing, he continues to consider how to restore the community of the local society that has been broken in modern society, and presents it as concrete projects and reviews.
This book includes Mr. Yamamoto's thoughts and attitudes as an architect, as well as texts that are particularly important for understanding his architecture.
